TEHRAN – During a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly in Syria.

Salehi described Syria’s role in the region as ‘influential’ and urged ‘dialogue’ to end the crisis in the country without any foreign intervention.

He also said that the current situation in Syria is soluble, and the Islamic Republic is also ready to take any steps to help resolve the conflict between the Beshar Assad government and the opposition.

Medelci also said dialogue can settle any conflict.
